• AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT, MADE IN USA: Cut and finished in Ohio from sustainably sourced American black walnut. The deep chocolate tone is the wood itself. No stain, no dye, no filler, and every board carries a different grain.
• EDGE GLUED TO STAY FLAT: A single wide slab cups as it dries. We rip the wood into strips and rejoin them with the grain alternating, so those forces cancel each other out. That is why the board is jointed, and it is what keeps it flat for years. Bonded with a waterproof adhesive rated for food contact.
• SANDED SMOOTH, AND EASY TO KEEP IT THAT WAY: Every board is sanded before it ships. Wood is still wood though, and now and then the grain lifts after the first wash. Wash with soapy water, let it dry, one light pass with 150 grit, re oil, and the surface is set for life.
• NO PLASTIC, NO MICROPLASTICS: Solid hardwood and nothing else. Nothing to shed into your food, no PFOA, no BPA, no formaldehyde. The fibres close over a knife cut instead of scarring, so the board stays smooth and your edges stay sharp.
• JUICE GROOVE ONE SIDE, FLAT THE OTHER: 17 by 11 by 0.75 inches. Groove side catches everything a roast or a ripe tomato gives up. Flip it for bread, cheese and carving. Hand wash, dry standing on edge, and oil it when the water stops beading.
